Our experience was excellent. The service over our 4 day program was perfectly tailored to our needs. My wife and I are beginner kiteboarders having only taken a couple of lessons previously. The El Cuyo location had reliable and consistent wind conditions from a cross-onshore direction. The water was warm and clear off of a beautiful sandy beach. We learned a lot and had a fantastic time doing it.
El Cuyo is not a tourist centre. On weekdays we would be lucky to see 20 people on the beach on the weekend maybe 50 or a 100 on a 3-4km long section. There is really only 1 restaurant (very good). If you are comfortable being out of the regular confines of a tourist centre El Cuyo will not disappoint and will likely be the highlight of your visit to Mexico. Recommend 100%
I”m thinking already thinking about my next destination.

We had a fantastic kiteboadring experience with I’m Your Trip last November. I took the trip with a friend, both of us being complete beginners. the instructors, did an excellent job introducing us to the sport and made our first seconds on the board possible. They was incredibly patient with us, including “rescuing” us numerous times when weren’t able to get back to shore by ourselves, etc. The whole team has been really friendly and very flexible with the timing as winds sometimes weren’t optimal on our local beach, including leading us to alternative locations with better conditions. All in all, a truly enjoyable experience which i can recommend to anyone up for an exciting sport.

Our trip includes picking you up from the airport. Here you will find more information:

Arrival by airplane
Please book your flight to arrive at Cancún International Airport (CUN).

The nearest airport with a wide variety of international flights is Cancun. From here you can take a taxi, private transfer or public transport, or you can hire a car.

By public transport:

El Cuyo is not the easiest to get to by public transport (which is why it remains so unspoilt!), so if you are planning a trip and you don’t have a car, we’d recommend that you stay at least a few days to make it worth it!
You generally don’t need to book bus tickets in advance, you merely pay when you arrive at the bus station or when you get on.

A travel-insurance policy to cover theft, loss, adventure sports and medical problems is a very good idea. Some policies specifically exclude dangerous activities, so check carefully to make sure you're covered for all your activities of choice.
Here some suggestions:

You do not have to be as strong as most people think you need to be to kiteboard. Because you where a kiteboarding harness that you hook into the kite with, which takes most of the load. Your arms are only there to steer and control the kite surfing kite, not to hang on for the ride.

Kitesurfing takes the desire to learn and time in the water flying the kites. The more time you spend flying the kites, the better your kite control will be which will ultimately allow you to progress your board skills. We have taught people of all ages and abilities over the years.

Being in shape helps, but you did not need to be a great athlete to kiteboard. The kites involve a lot more finesse than strength to control. You do not have to be a body builder to hold onto the kites because you have a harness that takes all of the pull.

Yes. It is very important that you know how to swim.
