4 Days of Kitesurfing Exploring the Best Kept Secret in the Yucatan Peninsula.

Nestled right between Playa del Carmen and Tulum is an oasis most tourist drive right by. Xpu Ha is the quintessential white sandy beach and turquoise waters we all think of planning a Mexico vacation. Xpu Ha (pronounced “shpu-Ha”) is a section of beach between Playa Del Carmen and Tulum. This is one of the areas of the beach that is open to the public and has a road from the 307 Highway to the beach. This beach provides a more remote getaway.  After sitting on the beach for awhile watching the kitesurfers you’ll get the itch to head out there and see what it’s all about. Xpu Ha Beach is The Best Kept Secret in the Yucatan.

Xpu-Ha Beach is one of the most incredible beaches of the Riviera Maya. Situated between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, 5 minutes south of Puerto Aventuras. This caribbean beach with turquoise waters, palm trees, white sand and uncrowded bay, is a great place for having a day trip with your friends or family. Xpu Ha has a natural reef excelent for snorkel, also is a wonderful spot for kiteboarding, kayaking, Paddle board, swimming, having some seefood in one of the beach restaurants or just drink a mexican beer in a beach bar.

    Fun and professional
We went to Xpu Ha to learn some kiteboarding and we found an excellent team of accessible professionals that made our learning experience fantastic. All the team from I’m Your Trip…. all great riders that were fully on top of us.
They are honest professionals – if the coditions were not good, they would tell us not to try.
The gear you rent is of good quality as well. All in all a superb experience!
Very well-organized and equipped kite-surfing lessons, very much recommended!

I have wanted to learn how to Kite surf for some time. I finally took the plunge. I’m Your Trip took care of me from start to finish. I went Xpu Ha Beach. The instructors I had was just amazing. I learned all the basic kite skills and was up and surfing after my first lesson. I am hooked. I will be heading back down in December hopefully. Thanks again!!!!

A travel-insurance policy to cover theft, loss, adventure sports and medical problems is a very good idea. Some policies specifically exclude dangerous activities, so check carefully to make sure you're covered for all your activities of choice.

There is no way you’re going to fly away. Former cases of people who lost control of their elevation happened when kites had no safety measures. With new equipment, the kite loses up to 85% of its power just by taking your hands off the bar. Hitting the safety release will make it lose 95% power, and if you hit the leash safety release, you will be detached from the kite completely. Thanks to this 3-level safety system, kiteboarding is currently one of the world’s safest watersports.

Yes, it’s easy, and in fact anyone can do it. All you need is the will to learn.

No, you can start from scratch by learning everything from the basic safety rules, to wind theory and standing on the board within 9 hours (a full course length).

Normally the best period is from mid of November until the end of Mai on the Riviera Maya Coast, and till end of July in the "Golf of Mexico" area.
Even summer time(June/July/August) gives us some very good Kiteboarding days.
